Wedding Information

Experience your special day in a unique setting, surrounded by aspens and fir trees, abundant wildflowers, magnificent peaks, winding rivers, and tranquil lakes. The Crested Butte Land Trust offers a special opportunity to conduct weddings on four of its stunning properties.

Peanut Lake: Situated along the south shore of Peanut Lake, about a quarter mile up Peanut Lake Road, the site provides expansive views of Crested Butte Mountain, Gothic Mountain, and Paradise Divide. From the water’s edge you may spot elk, deer, red and silver fox, ermine, beaver, and a variety of avian life.

Woods Walk: Nestled in the aspens, just steps above the Town of Crested Butte, the Woods Walk is one of our most popular wedding sites. A groomed trail leads you on a short walk through the woods from the road on Kebler Pass. Crested Butte Mountain sets the backdrop to this site, where summer’s wildflowers grow tall and fall’s golden aspens dance around you.

Lower Loop: One of Crested Butte’s most popular trails, the wedding site on the Lower Loop sits in a vibrant wildflower speckled clearing where the wide path and singletrack meet. Surrounded by aspens and fir trees, the site is about a quarter mile hike on a groomed trail. The Slate River meanders just north of the site, with wetlands and wildlife habitat for a diverse community of plants, mammals, birds and fish. Your views of Paradise Divide and Crested Butte Mountain on the Lower Loop are unsurpassed.

Gunsight Bridge: Hear the trickling of the Slate River from the Gunsight Bridge site. Located about five miles out Slate River Road, and perched directly beside the Slate River, just below the road, the site is adjacent to some of the highest quality wetlands in Colorado. Soak in outstanding views of Paradise Divide and Crested Butte Mountain.

Reservations are first come, first served. The Land Trust asks for a minimum donation of $275 for the use of the property. In addition, a refundable deposit of $100 is required to ensure the property is left clean and undamaged. Reservations may be made by contacting Katie at 970.349.1206 or outreach@cblandtrust.org. You may also print, complete and mail or scan and email a reservation form below to the Crested Butte Land Trust. Please feel free to contact us to discuss the location, timing, and other details of your special day.
