Explore the Land
Something for everyone
We believe that access to nature creates healthy, happy communities. No matter the season, the Land Trust provides incredible access so you can get out and enjoy paradise. Whether you’re looking for the valley’s most popular biking trails, world-class angling in pristine mountain creeks, or a hike through Colorado’s best wildflowers, the Land Trust has something for everyone.
Building strong relationships
Since 1991, the Crested Butte Land Trust has collaborated with our many partners, community members, and volunteers to establish some of the most incredible trails in the country. We are so proud to provide access to hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, and so much more. Tens of thousands of community members and visitors use our trails and lands each year, exploring the outdoors and staying healthy and active. We could not have done this without the unwavering support of our community.
Today, we protect over 6,000 acres of land that provides public access to over 25 miles of single track trail, and stunning scenic views.
It is with appreciation that we honor The Bureau of Land Management, Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association, Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Gunnison Trails, Town of Crested Butte, Town of Mt. Crested Butte, Gunnison County Trails Commission and the Forest Service for protecting open space in the Gunnison Valley.
As important, we want to acknowledge the many landowners who have so generously agreed to donate a perpetual trail agreement on their property. With their good will, visitors and locals alike experience the thrill of meandering through an aspen grove on Snodgrass Mountain, or a wedding memory captured on the Woods Walk with Mt. Crested Butte presiding in the background.
