Public Benefits of Private Land Conservation

Have you ever wondered what we as a community gain from private land conservation? Or how conservation benefits you and your friends and family directly?

Researchers at Colorado State University recently completed a study on the public benefits of private land conservation. Turns out the benefits are vast for both the environment and for Colorado communities. Preserving natural landscapes helps maintain biodiversity, protect ecosystems, and safeguard critical habitats for wildlife. Conservation contributes to the overall well-being of our community and economy by supporting recreational opportunities, promoting clean air and water, protecting our ranching heritage, and ensuring a sustainable and vibrant future for generations to come. Considering CBLT’s 30-year dedication to public access, wetlands, wildlife, and agriculture, the positive community impact in the Gunnison Valley is immense.

Introduction to Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics

Leave No Trace principles provide a framework to protect the outdoors while minimizing our impact on the land, water, wildlife, and vegetation we all love. Whether you’re in the backcountry or frontcountry, these guidelines can be applied anywhere. Learn more about how you can get outside in a sustainable way by registering for Leave No Trace’s free workshop, Introduction to Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics, on Wednesday, February 14 at 6 PM MST.
