Volunteer Trail Days at Long Lake

Land Trust has been working with the community to identify short- and long-term solutions to better manage recreational use and conservation values at Long Lake. Our team is focused on revegetating the area, developing official trails to prevent further erosion, and closing off undesignated trails that may infringe on private property and working grazing lands.

This summer, Crested Butte Conservation Corps and CBMBA have been busy working on new trail improvements up at Long Lake, and their work looks fantastic.

As trail work continues into August, CB Land Trust will be hosting volunteer trail building events at Long Lake on Thursdays. If you’re interested in getting your hands dirty to help bring our improvement plans to fruition, we’d love to invite your participation. If you know others who may be interested, please pass the word.  If you haven’t been up to Long Lake recently to see the progress, we encourage you to go check it out!

Volunteer trail building at Long Lake is scheduled for the following days/times. We’ll meet at the parking lot adjacent to Meridian Lake Dam:

  • August 4 & 18: 10:30AM -1:00PM
  • August 11: 1:00 -3:30PM
  • August 24: 4:00 PM

Hope to see you there!
